The Alpha Nu Epsilon chapter of Beta Sigma Phi will hold its inaugural Reindeer Run at 7:30 a.m. on December 1, 2012. The event, which will consist of a 1 Mile Fun Run and a 5K race, will begin and end at Gilmer High School.  Participants of all ages and fitness levels are encouraged to run, walk or crawl their way to the finish line. Prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place men and women in the 5K.

A prize will also be awarded to the best dressed participant, so wear your most outrageous Christmas gear, bring the whole family and join us for a fun-filled race!

Pre-registration for the Reindeer Run is $20 and ends Saturday, November 10. Late registrations will be accepted after the November 10 deadline until the morning of the race at a cost of $25 per participant. All participants 12 years of age and younger may be registered at a discounted cost of $15.  T-shirts are guaranteed for all pre-registered runners and leftover shirts will be available the day of the race on a first-come, first-served basis.

Proceeds from the Reindeer Run will help Alpha Nu Epsilon sponsor a needy family for Christmas, provide college scholarships for high school seniors and sponsor a student in the Gilmer ISD Backpack Program, as well as provide donations to various community events.

Registration forms may be obtained at the Gilmer Area Chamber of Commerce office or by visiting www.gilmerareachamber.com. For more information, please email maryjaneham@ymail.com.
