What: A press conference announcing the launch of a whistleblower hotline for East Texas citizens. This hotline will be for Texas citizens and landowners. The hotline will be a resource for East Texans to call and report abuses/ and concerns regarding TransCanada’s proposed Keystone XL tar sands pipeline, which would expand foreign oil company TransCanada’s web of pipelines transporting toxic oil from Canada’s tar sands to Houston oil refineries.

The Keystone XL pipeline has become highly controversial in East Texas, with landowners reporting intimidating tactics from TransCanada’s land agents. This hotline will provide a safe place/resource for people to call, register complaints, and get connected to local citizen groups already organizing against the pipeline.
