First National Bank donation to be used to buy textbooks

THE DUAL-CREDIT GOVERNMENT course at Gilmer High School, taught by Mary Jane Ham, received a $540 donation check from Gilmer’s First National Bank to offset the cost of textbooks. Holding the checks are Daniel Castro of First National Bank and Mrs. Ham. Students with them, in no particular order, are Kathelynn Broadway, Emily Buettner, Cara Davidson, Brooke Davis, Shaylee Fennell, Courtney Gipson, Steven Holeman, Rebecca Hudson, Sean Keegan, Hailey Langford, Dakita Martinez, Cecily Massey, Taylor Mobley, Henry Nelson, Thomas Rice, Kennedy Scott, Caleb Smith, Haygan Thomas, Bryce Tomlin and Kaylie White. “We are happy to assist Gilmer High School’s Dual Credit American Government class in  the purchase of textbooks,” said Kelly Stretcher, President and Chief Executive Officer of First National Bank of Gilmer.  “These courses are taught by Kilgore College faculty and students earn high school and college credit and students are responsible for all required class materials.  These Gilmer High School students enrolled in dual-credit American Government Class would like to thank First National Bank of Gilmer for donating funds to purchase six classroom copies of the required college textbook”, said Mrs. Ham.
