These students, representing the seven Upshur County high schools, will met monthly at the bank to learn about banking, finance, investment, savings, credit and money management. Kelly Stretcher, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of First National Bank of Gilmer said, “These extremely talented young people represent the best of Upshur County and we want to instill in them the basics of banking with emphasis on how a community bank works. We are happy to invest in the development our future leaders and citizens.” The Junior Bank Board, elects officers, chooses committees, projects and raises funds for Junior Bank Board Scholarships. A spring trip to the Federal Reserve Bank in Dallas is also planned for the board.
