The annual Upshur County Health Fair will be Tuesday, March 26, from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. the Gilmer Civic Center, of U.S. 271, next to Walmart in Gilmer, with dozens of exhibitors lined up already.

There will be free admission, giveaways, door prizes, refreshments and ambulance tours.

Free health screenings will be available, including blood cholesterol, blood sugar, pulse oximetry, vascular carotid screening, chiropractic screenings, depression screenings and more.

To obtain accurate blood testing results, fasting 12 hours prior to the screening is recommended.

Other free health services available include blood pressure, Body Mass Index information, and diabetes and nutrition education.

New this year is “ask the doctor.” You’ll have the opportunity to speak with a physician at no cost.

The ETMC Mobile Digital Mammography Unit will also be offering mammograms.Medicare, Medicaid and all commercial insurance will be accepted and filed.
