LETU CFW TO FEATURE CBMC PRESIDENT LEE TRUAX TO SPEAK MARCH 30
(LONGVIEW, Texas)—LeTourneau University’s Center for Faith and Work is pleased to present Lee Truax, the president of Christian Business Men’s Connection, to speak in chapel at 10:50 a.m. Wednesday, March 20, in the S.E. Belcher Jr. Chapel and Performance Center on the main campus at 2100 S. Mobberly Ave. in Longview. The public is invited.
LETU founder R.G. LeTourneau was one of the five-men who comprised the steering committee selected to direct the CBMC ministry when it was founded in the 1930s.
Truax is a native New Englander and veteran in the Information Technology industry, with 22 years working for some of the “who’s who” of computer companies. He also has a part-time role with the National Football League, and has served on the New England Patriots Statistics Crew (a game day assignment) for the past 22 years.
Truax believes the mission of CBMC is pretty simple, to present Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord to business and professional men and to develop those men to carry out the Great Commission. Truax says he experienced its mission firsthand as a teenager when his dad introduced him to CBMC and meeting men of God who encouraged him to live his life differently than in the way many of his young friends were.
Truax accepted the role of CBMC President in October 2009, and he and his family moved from Massachusetts to Ringgold, Ga. the home of the national office of CBMC, Inc. He is a member of the Global Leadership Team for CBMC International and has had opportunity to travel internationally in support of healthy CBMC global organizations and communities.
Truax holds an MBA in Leadership from Liberty University and is a graduate of Messiah College in Grantham, Penn., where he met his wife Lisa. They have seven children ranging from 22 to 6 years old. Six boys and one girl keep them very active with sports and their commitment to homeschool their family.
