Belcher Jr. Chapel and Performance Center, 2100 S. Mobberly Ave., in Longview. The event is free and open to the public.

One Mission Society is a worldwide missions program with over 14,000 employees that trains indigenous peoples to spread the Christian faith in their area. Long directs OMS in this effort, which establishes thousands of churches each year. Before serving as president, Long worked as a missionary in the organization for nine years. After leaving his 15-year partnership at Wyatt Tarrant and Combs, a Kentucky law firm, Long joined OMS in 1995. He and his wife, Lori, began working in Macau, leading Bible studies at a local church and tutoring students in English. In 1999, Long moved to Hong Kong, helping to found the United Wesleyan Graduate Institute, a school for higher education based in the area. There, he taught New Testament Greek and theology classes while serving as the OMS field treasurer.

Long was elected president of OMS in July 2004. He returned to the company’s headquarters in Greenwood, Ind.., where he remains today.

Long received a Bachelor of Science in accounting from Murray State University in 1975, a law degree from the University of Kentucky in 1978, and a Master of Divinity degree from Asbury Theological Seminary in 2002. He is currently working on a doctorate in ministry, also at Asbury Theological Seminary.
