Noon to 3 p.m.

Glaske Center for Engineering
on LETU campus
2100 S. Mobberly Ave.
About 130 high school and middle school students from around East Texas will participate in engineering workshops to introduce them to careers in engineering.
Engineers Week, known as “E-Week,” is a national event to promote the contribution of engineers to society and to encourage the nation’s youth to explore engineering as a career path. LETU will have interactive sessions working with electronics, structures, 3D solid modeling and materials joining.
Middle school students will also participate in an occupational discussion from professionals in the engineering field, titled “What Do Engineers Do?”
Each grade level will have a faculty member or engineering professional leading the conversation, tailored to each grade’s skill level, with welding and trebuchet labs and demonstrations for high school students and a simple design project for middle school students.
