The post will now meet at the Upshur County Senior Citizens Organization building at the intersection of Silver Alley and Harrison St.
Meeting time has been changed to 6:30 p.m. on the third Thursday of each month, starting Feb. 21.
Parking will be at the rear (south side) of the building, and can be accessed from Silver Alley.
“In discussions between the Post 320 and UCSCO members, it was discovered that there would be several advantages for both parties to have the American Legion Post as a resident” in the 99-year-old building, Holsworth said in a press release.
The local legion chapter had been sharing a meeting place with the Disabled American Veterans chapter on U.S. 271 North, across from Walmart.
Holsworth also announced that his chapter is now at 126 percent of its membership goal with 45 members, and almost six months left in its fiscal year.
Telephone contacts for the legion post, comprised of military veterans, remain the same: Holsworth at 903-843-4324 and Vance Lowry at 903-843-2257.
Legion members serve fellow veterans and the community, Holsworth said.
