Animal Medical & Surgical and PETCO are sponsoring a low-cost pet vaccination clinic August 25, 12-2 PM. The proceeds will be donated to the Gilmer 4-H Veterinary Science Students headed by Andrea Brunson and taught by Dr. Cherie Nazzal and Second Chance of Upshur County no-kill shelter .
All pet vaccinations will be administered inside the PETCO store on Loop 281 near Hastings and are being offered to the community at a discounted rate. "Core Vaccines," or the basics, start at $30.00 and include Rabies, 9-in-one (Distemper-Parvo Combination) for dogs and 4-in-one (Distemper, Upper respiratory) for cats. The deluxe set of shots include Rabies, 9-way, H3N8 Flu, and Bordatella for dogs and Rabies, 4-way, Leukemia, and FIV-Aids for cats and costs $50.00, which is half the retail value. Dewormers and Heartworm testing and preventatives will be offered.
All dogs and cats are required by law to receive an annual Rabies Vaccination.
