THE NATIONAL Junior Honor Society at Bruce Junior High in Gilmer recently inducted members for the 2014-2015 school year. This is the 13th NJHS for Bruce Junior High. NJHS here averages 40 members per year. Students are chosen based on scholarship, citizenship, character and leadership capacity. During their eighth grade year, the NJHS members learn the true meaning of their fifth hallmark, service. NJHS students have group service projects such as "Coats for Kids" and a canned food drive. Each student also spends at least 10 hours during the school year volunteering in his or her community on an independent service project.
