Eight-week course for entrepreneurs begins this month

 

"How to Start and Operate a Business in East Texas" will be offered in Longview, Marshall and Gilmer beginning Feb. 26.

 

The Longview course will be offered from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Thursday evenings from Feb. 28 through April 25 at Kilgore College—Longview, Hendrix Building, Room Number 107, located at 300 S. High Street.

 

The Marshall class will be offered from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday evenings from Feb. 26 through April 23 at the Marshall Center for Applied Technology, located at 2660 E. End Blvd. South.

 

The Gilmer class will also be offered from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday evenings from Feb. 26 through April 23 at the ETEX Telephone Co-op, located at 1013 State Hwy. 155 North.

 

A certificate of completion will be presented to each student completing all eight classes, and the course has been approved for CEU (continuing education units).

 

Tuition for the course is $119 which includes an entrepreneurial startup guide and all course materials.

 

 

 

Payroll tax Laws workshop will be offered Feb. 20

 

“Payroll Tax Law 2013” is set for 9 to 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 20, at Longview Economic Development Corporation, located at 410 N. Center Street in Longview. 

 

The workshop is designed to assist small business owners and managers with the basics in calculating payroll taxes and withholding taxes.

 

Registration fee is $49 which includes all materials.

 

 

 

Microsoft workshop will teach small businesses about ‘cloud’ phenomenon

 

“Microsoft 365 for Small Business.” is set for 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 13, at LEDCO, located at 410 N. Center Street in Longview.

 

Information will be presented about Microsoft Office 365, a “cloud” service that gives businesses the capabilities to grow and target more rapid success by allowing access to e-mail, documents, contacts and calendars from virtually anywhere on almost any device.

 

Registration fee is $29, and can be paid by check or credit card.
