Swimming classes will be offered in July

Kilgore College will offer two July sessions of swimming for various age groups and skill levels.

 

Session II and III are both six-hour courses running two weeks.

 

Classes will be held Monday through Thursday with Friday as a make-up day if the pool closes because of bad weather.

 

Registration for each session is $60 and advance registration is required.  Enrollment is limited to 30 students per class.

 

In-person registration is at the Bert E. Woodruff Adult Education Center, 220 N. Henderson Blvd. in Kilgore.  Classes are held on the KC campus at the Parks Fitness Center.

Courses include:

 

Swimming Session II is offered Monday through Thursday on July 2-12.  The class for Level I and II will be 10:30 to 11:15 a.m.  The class for Level III and IV will be 11:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.  The class for Level V and Adult will be 12:30 to 1:15 p.m.

 

Swimming Session III is offered Monday through Thursday on July 16-26.  The class for Level II will be 10:30 to 11:15 a.m.  The class for Level III and IV will be 11:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.

 

Guard Start is offered during Session III from 12:30 to 1:15 p.m.  Guard Start is an advanced course for youth are not old enough to lifeguard, but who want to learn the responsibilities and skills required.  A $15 textbook, available from the instructor on the first class day, is required for Guard Start.
