Most of the event will be held indoors in an air conditioned space to avoid the Summer heat!  And Concessions stands will be open serving ice cold drinks and tasty foods!

FRIDAY:

5PM - OFFICIALLY BEGINS - OPENING CEREMONY (VENDOR & CONCESSION BOOTHS OPEN)
     6PM - LECTURE / PRESENTATION BY JULIE RAINWATER ON:  "The journey of discovering and uncovering Native American background.  & The need for Native American philosophies, ideas and rituals in this modern world."
7:30PM - NATIVE AMERICAN FLUTE PERFORMANCE BY MASTER MUSICIAN CODY "LITTLE HAWK" SWIMMER
8:30PM - NATIVE ART & CRAFT CLASS AND DEMONSTRATION BY TIMOTHY BENSON
10PM - END OF FIRST DAY
 
SATURDAY:
9AM-  OPENING OF SECOND DAY
10AM-  LECTURE / PRESENTATION BY CRYSTAL BRINKLEY ON: "Herbalism, Folklore, & Natural Remedies"
11AM- LECTURE / PRESENTATION BY ARLEEN GREGG ON: "Cleansing the home, body, and soul through 'smudging' and spiritualism."
12 NOON- DANCE COMPETITION BEGINS WITH GOURD DANCE
5PM- TWO HOUR BREAK - TRAVEL TO CHEROKEE CHIEF BOWLES MEMORIAL FOR REMEMBRANCE / HONOR CEREMONY WITH NATIVE AMERICAN FLUTE PERFORMANCE BY CODY "LITTLE HAWK" SWIMMER
7PM- DANCE COMPETITION RESUMES
9PM- END OF DANCE COMPETITION / AWARDING OF PRIZES
10PM- CLOSING CEREMONY - END OF POW WOW

Native American Dancers, Historians, Crafters, and more will be on hand to perform and educate on the wonders of the Native American Indian culture!

 
Lectures will be held on HISTORY, CRAFTING, HERBALISM, FOLK REMEDIES, and more!
 
Representatives from several tribes, including Cherokee, Apache, Comanche, Yakima, Kickapoo, Alabama-Couchatta, and others will be on hand to demonstrate NATIVE DANCE, CRAFTING, STORYTELLING, and FLUTE.  A ceremony will take place at Chief Bowles Memorial Site - the area where the last battle between the Indians and the white settlers took place in East Texas.

Vendor spots are available for $50 each.  Items must be related to the Native American culture in one form or another.
