Upshur Manor Breaks Ground on Healing Garden

Upshur Manor Nursing Home will break ground on their “Healing Garden” on Friday, April 26 at 3:00 p.m. at their facility (623 Highway 155 North, Gilmer).  The  idea of a Healing Garden was first conceived by a resident who passed away after a battle with cancer several months ago.  Shortly before he passed away, our resident  proposed the idea of creating a Healing Garden, a special, serene garden for residents and family members to enjoy.  We invite you to join us as we break ground on our garden.  Plans for the garden include several relaxing seating areas, a water feature, as well as an herb and flower garden.  A brick pathway will allow residents to reach the various areas of the garden.  We invite the public to join us for the groundbreaking.

In an effort to raise funds for the Healing Garden, Upshur Manor will be conducting a brick fundraising campaign.  We invite you to purchase a brick in memory or in honor of a loved one.  Your brick will be placed along our Healing Garden Pathway.  When you purchase a brick, your loved ones name will be forever “engraved in stone” at Upshur Manor.  What a wonderful way to memorialize someone special!

Pricing (all pricing includes engraving fees):

4” x 8” Brick - $30

8” x 8” brick - $50

Concrete Bench - $500

To order your brick or bench, please contact Christine Jackson, Marketing Director, at (903) 797-2143 office or (903) 240-4769 (cell).  Later in the year, we will have a special ceremony to officially open the Healing Garden and you’ll be invited to come locate your engraved brick at that time.
