Adult student, Mary Ann Wylie sang Caro mio ben by Giordani.
Longview High School student, Allison Johnson, sang O del mio dolce ardor by Gluck.
Snowy Velten, 9th-grade home-school student, sang Danza, danza, fanciulla gentile by Durante.
Summer Roberts, eighth grade student from Sabine Junior High School, sang Victoria, mio core! by Carissimi.
The following students who sang at the recital will be singing in the Texas State Solo/Ensemble Contest May 26 or May 28: Hope Willeford, Harmony High School; Shyann Farmer, Sabine High School; Cassandra Galeanos, Gilmer High School; and Elizabeth Means, Harmony High School will be singing Danza, danza fanciulla gentile by Durante.
Others include: Rebekah Betterton, Harmony High School singing Gia’il sole dal Gange by Scarlatti; Bridget Seymour, White Oak High School, singing Se Florindo e fidele by Scarlatti; Hannah Means, Harmony High School, singing Se tu m’ami, se sospire by Pergolesi; and Jodi Mitchell, Sabine High School, singing Do Not Go, My Love by Hageman.
Three graduating seniors, each of whom will be singing at the Texas State Solo/Ensemble Contest, presented solo recitals.
They were Samantha Payne, Gilmer High School, singing Se Florindo e fideleby Scarlatti, Danza, danza fanciulla gentile by Durante, and Go ’Way from My Window by Niles; Taylor Cooper, Harmony High School, singing Che fiero costume by Legrenzi, Gia’il sole dal Gange by Scarlatti, and Widmung by Schumann; and Katherine Betterton, Harmony High School, singing Il mio bel foco by Marcello, Widmung by Schumann, and O Divine Redeemer by Gounod.
Miss Payne will be attending Tyler Junior College in the fall. Cooper will be attending Texas A&M University. Miss Betterton will be attending East Texas Baptist University as a vocal student.
