Guilty pleas heard in court

Six felony guilty pleas were heard in 115th District Court in Gilmer between Oct. 29 and Nov. 5, with Judge Lauren Parish presiding.

Those pleading and their sentences included:

• Michael Carroll Luce, 30, Gilmer, evading arrest detention with a vehicle, a state jail felony. He received 24 months in a state jail. Upshur County Assistant District Attorney Edward Choy was prosecutor, and John Moore was defense attorney.

• Coy Earl Pickett, 23, Gilmer, possession of a controlled substance-MDMA, a state jail felony. He received six months in a state jail. Choy was prosecutor and Moore was defense attorney.

• Christopher Fincher, 37, Longview, credit card abuse, a state jail felony. He received four years deferred adjudication probation. He was also fined $750 and ordered to perform 400 hours of community service, write an apology letter to his victim, and spend five weekends in the Upshur County Jail within 90 days. Choy was prosecutor, and David Griffith was defense attorney.

• Jimmie R. Pritchett Jr., 45, Gilmer, driving while intoxicated, subsequent offense, habitual offender, a second-degree felony. He received four years in prison. Choy was prosecutor, and Jason Ellis was defense attorney.

• Michele Marlean Heard, 36, Gilmer, assault against a public servant, a third-degree felony. She received three years deferred adjudication probation. She was also ordered to do 600 hours of community service, take an anger management class, and write an apology letter to her victim. Choy was prosecutor and Barry Wallace was defense attorney.

• Crystal Dawn Green, 22, Gilmer, forgery, a state jail felony. She received five years deferred adjudication probation. She also was ordered to make $623 restitution to her victim and do 300 hours of community service. She will also spend four weekends in the Upshur County Jail.
