Challenged Outdoorsmen is a non-profit organization based in Longview that provides persons with disabilities and youth the opportunity to experience free of charge the outdoors without limitations.

Challenged Outdoorsmen of America-Northeast Texas Outdoors Chapter will be conducting its 4th Annual whitetail deer hunt for Youth on Jan. 15 and 16 at Brushy Creek Area on Lake O’ the Pines.

The hunt is co-hosted by COA-NETO and United States Corps of Engineers. The COA event will be held at Lake O” Pine’s Brushy Creek area. These hunts are managed hunts and harvests are limited due to the guidelines, rules, and regulations set forth by the Corps of Engineers and Texas Parks and Wildlife Dept.

This hunt is limited to 20 youth due to space constraints.

This hunt as all COA-NETO events is free to the participant and parent/guardian.

All hunters participating will be responsible for their transportation to and from the hunt meeting area.

The hunter will have to be a legally licensed hunter aged 16 or younger with current 2010-2011 hunting license and be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.

It is required that you pre-apply for the hunt. Information for application is at the end of this announcement.

COA-NETO will provide transportation once on the hunt area.

COA-NETO has the equipment and deer blinds to accommodate those in wheelchairs. We encourage this!

COA-NETO will provide guides with hunters when appropriate.

COA-NETO will provide all meals and drinks during hunt day.

COA-NETO will skin and quarter your deer and place it in your ice chest.

This hunt will include challenged youth and unchallenged youth. Hunter must have valid Texas Hunting License. If parent is hunting with youth they too must have valid hunting license. If no license by parent then we will provide an experienced hunter to guide you both. This is an idea hunt for a single mother or non-hunting parent with a child that wants to experience whitetail deer hunting.
