LETU’S AUTO SOCIETY ANNUAL CAR SHOW SLATED FOR APRIL 16-17

LONGVIEW, Texas LeTourneau University’s Automotive Society is revving up for its 35th

annual Car Show to benefit missions. The event will take place

Saturday, April 16, from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.

and Sunday, April 17, from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. in the Exhibit Building at

the Maude Cobb Convention Center, 100 Grand Blvd. in Longview.

Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for students with valid student

identification. Children 12 and under get in free.

This year’s Car Show

will feature a range of vehicles from classic muscle cars, race cars,

custom restorations and a few new cars mixed in.

“If you are a car

enthusiast, the Automotive Society Car Show is always a very fun time

with lots of great cars and gives you the opportunity to meet other car

lovers in the community” said LETU student Jonathan

Olson, coordinator for this year’s Car Show.

 “This year we will

donate 75% of the proceeds from the Car Show to Interfaith Hospitality

Network,” Olson said.   IHN brings the faith community together to help

homeless families regain their housing, independence

and dignity.  The ministry currently operates in 41 states and partners

with congregations within a community to help transform lives.

Proceeds from the last two car shows have gone to restore and equip a Toyota Land Cruiser sent to a missionary family in Africa.

The LeTourneau

University Automotive Society is a Christ-centered group of student auto

enthusiasts with an auto shop on campus. The LETU Auto Society receives

financial contributions and raises money from the

local community to fund its projects and then use the proceeds to help

others.
