MARSHALL, Texas (1/23/12)- The East Texas Baptist University School of Fine Arts invites area church congregations to attend an evening of great hymn signing on Sunday, January 29, 2012 at 6:00 p.m. in Baker Auditorium of the Ornelas Spiritual Life Center. The service will be led by organist Dr. Al Travis and include music presented by the ETBU Choral program as well as performances by the ETBU brass and handbells.

“Dr. Al Travis is perhaps the finest and most prominent organist in history of Baptists,” said ETBU Dean of the School of Fine Arts, Dr. Tom Webster. “Dr. Travis has served our Lord, His people, and His church for decades and his influence on Baptist church music and church music leaders is absolutely immeasurable. He will lead us in a service of worship and singing the great hymns of the faith.”

Dr. Travis will be playing the newly installed Johannes Rembrandt organ that was donated and installed last year by Dr. Burton H. Patterson of Southlake. Admission is free and a reception will be held immediately following the service.

For information contact the ETBU School of Fine Arts at 903-923-2158.
