GILMER BUCKEYES Kole Lawhorn and Branson Parker, seated from left to right, are the latest players off last season’s 13-1 quarterfinalist team to sign athletic scholarships to play football at the next level. Both offensive linemen will be playing for the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor Crusaders. Standing behind the two Buckeyes Friday morning are family members, from left, Deanne Lawhorn, Doug Lawhorn, Penny Lawhorn, Gilmer Head Coach and Athletic Director Jeff Traylor, Cindy Parker, Brianna Parker and David Parker. UMHB is a Christian university of approximately 2,800 students located in Belton. The Crusaders compete in the American Southwest Conference in NCAA Division III. Last season they compiled a record of 12-1 and went to the third round of the Division III playoffs.
