Early Childhood workshop, ‘Literacy for the Very Young’ set for March 24

Kilgore College Workforce Development will offer an early childhood workshop, “Literacy for the Very Young,” on Saturday, March 24.  



 



The eight-hour course will be held 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. in KC’s Bert E. Woodruff Adult Education Center in Kilgore. 



 



Cost of the workshop is $35 and continuing education units will be awarded.



 



“Literacy for the Very Young” will be taught by Jo Beth Reeves who has a Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education. She was a kindergarten classroom teacher for 30 years.



 



The workshop is appropriate for professional child care providers, mother’s day out and Sunday school teachers, as well as moms and dads. 



 



Creative ideas for lessons will focus on helping very young children learn to listen, write and read.

Early childhood workshops will be held once a month on Saturdays, March through August. 



 



Future topics include, Summer Plans, Math for Little Learners, Overview for Summer Help, Literacy through Music and Back to School.
