The Upshur County Sheriff’s Office and the Texas & Southwestern Cattle Raiser’s Special Ranger along with the Upshur County Crime Stoppers need your help in solving the Crime of the Week.

The Sheriff’s Office and Ranger is currently investigating the theft of 15 head of mixed breed steer cattle that have been stolen from a local rancher in the North East area of Upshur County. The theft occurred between Feb. 27 and Feb. 28, 2012. Unknown subjects entered the property penned and loaded the cattle into what appears to be a goose neck style trailer and then removed the cattle from the property. The cattle were branded with “W” over a bar on the left hip and have a double under bit mark in the right ear (two notches cut out of the lower part of the ear).

The Upshur County Crime Stoppers will pay up to a $1,000 reward for the information that leads to the arrest of the person(s) responsible for the crime(s) above.
