Hey Bikers – Take a Spin Through Jefferson

The Inaugural Route 49 Biker Rally will be held March 23-25, 2012 at the Diamond Don RV Park in Jefferson, Texas. The weekend starts on Friday evening with a meet and greet BBQ, beer garden and Didley Squat concert.

This event revs it up on Saturday with a Poker Run, Bike Show, Ms. Route 49 Contest, Biker Games, beer garden and more music concerts.

The RV Park is a perfect venue just one mile from downtown Jefferson. Cut loose in the 1800 sq ft barn and rock the night away where concerts will be held on Friday evening and Saturday. Hear the sounds of Dazed, Hazzards and Velcro Fly (a ZZ Top tribute band).

Auntie Skinners will host the Ms. Route 49 Contest on Saturday afternoon and the Bike Show will take place outside on Austin Street. Come see the pretty sights and also participate in the Bike Parade from downtown Jefferson to the RV Park.

A portion of the event proceeds will benefit Jefferson’s Volunteer Fire Department. The Fire Department was instrumental in saving lives and property during the terrible fires of last fall.

There will be a Sunday devotion and Blessing of the Bikes at 8:30 a.m. led by Steve Wise, SteveWise.com & Christ Ministry. Wise succeeded in motorcycle racing beyond his wildest dreams. He has traveled around the world sharing his faith in Christ at various churches, racetracks and special events. Eric Johnson of Racer X Magazine says of Wise “With wins in Superbikers, AMA road race, Supercross and Motocross Nationals, Steve Wise might be the best all-around American motorcycle racer ever”. Wise is the only rider in history to stand in victory circle in six major forms of American Motorcycle Association professional racing.

The Diamond Don RV Park (Cypress Bayou RV Park) is located one mile from downtown Jefferson on the Cypress Bayou River in a rural setting with beautiful trees and wildlife. RV sites and tent camping will be available for the weekend.

Jefferson is nestled deep in the Piney Woods of East Texas and seems frozen in time. It is a charming town and an elegant reminder of a bygone era. There are over a hundred buildings in the city with historical markers. Many historic homes offer bed and breakfast accommodations. The town also features two historic hotels downtown. Dozens of other historic buildings house museums, craft and antique shops and restaurants.
