LETU TO HOST TOM LEPPERT ON FAITH/WORK INTEGRATION MARCH 21
(LONGVIEW, Texas)— LeTourneau University’s Center for Faith and Work will feature former Dallas Mayor Tom Leppert during a university chapel service at 10:50 a.m. Wednesday, March21, in the S.E. Belcher Jr. Chapel and Performance Center, 2100 S. Mobberly Ave. in Longview.
Leppert, who is currently running for U.S. Senate as a Texas Republican, will discuss faith and work integration as a businessman and politician. Prior to becoming mayor of Dallas in 2007, Leppert led several major corporations in the construction, financial services and real estate industries, including as CEO of the nation’s largest general building company, The Turner Corporation. As mayor, Leppert led ethics reforms and dedicated himself to improve quality of life for Dallas citizens. He was named “CEO of the Year” by D Magazine in 2008.
The Center for Faith and Work invites business leaders to campus to help students gain a vision about what it means to be a follower of Jesus in their workplace.
“This chapel service won’t be a political speech,” said LETU Executive Director of the Center for Faith and Work Bill Peel. “Tom’s faith plays a vital role in his public and personal life, and he will share how his faith helped him to make decisions in his roles in leadership.”
