The Sportsmen’s & Animal Owners’ Voting Alliance, a nationwide

nonpartisan organization of animal owners and sportsmen, named

Representative David Simpson “Legislative Leader 2011."  Simpson, a

Republican representing District 7 comprised of Gregg County and

northern Smith County, serves as a member of Border &

Intergovernmental Affairs and Urban Affairs Committees.

Susan Wolf, President of SAOVA, indicated that Simpson displayed

outstanding leadership working with colleagues, animal owners, and

sportsmen in a legislative session burdened with emotion. Simpson’s

commitment to continue working with animal owners and sportsmen to

preserve and protect our property rights clearly distinguished him

among other nominees for this award.

Martin Kralik Legislative Liaison for the American Fox Terrier Club

presented the award on SAOVA’s behalf.  Representative Simpson thanked

SAOVA for recognizing him as Legislative Leader.  “We need to return

sanity to government at many levels. Responsible animal owners and

sportsmen can work together to ensure sustainable and humane treatment

of animals without the unnecessary regulations and expensive new

government bureaucracies. I appreciate SAOVA’s recognition of my

efforts to keep government limited and accountable to the people.”

SAOVA is a nonpartisan volunteer group working to protect U.S.

citizens from the legislative and political threats of radical animal

rightists. SAOVA's members hunt, fish and own livestock, dogs, cats

and other pets. Visit our website at http://saova.org to review this

program's goals and methodology.
