Registration under way for children’s sacred summer music camp

Kilgore College will hold a children’s sacred music camp, “The Music Machine at KC,” Aug. 6-11, on the Kilgore campus. 



 



The camp is open to children from kindergarten through sixth grade.



 



Early registration will run through July 1. Late registration will end August 1.



 



Hosted by the Kilgore College Music Department and sponsored by the Kilgore Ministerial Alliance, the camp is set for 9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, Aug. 6-10.



 



The camp will conclude 7 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 11, with a final children’s performance in Van Cliburn Auditorium on the Kilgore campus.



 



Cost of the camp is $110 per child during early registration through July 1.



 



Registration fee includes all camp materials, supplies and daily lunch.



 



There is a discount of $10 for the first additional child registered from the same family, and $5 more for each additional child from the same family (i.e. $110 for first child; $100 for second child; $95 for third child; $90 for fourth child, etc.)



 



Late registration is set for July 2 through Aug. 1 for $135 per student.



 



The camp is limited to 50 students.

Mail the completed form and a check or money order to the address shown.



 



The camp will offer classes on hymn study and traditional Christmas carols while also preparing a sacred children’s musical.



 



Jeanne Johnson, KC’s chair of music and dance, will serve as director of the camp, and Kimberly Earnhardt Lee will serve as music director. 



 



James Vermillion, music director at Kilgore’s St. Luke’s United Methodist Church, will serve as the camp’s director of hymns and carols. 



 



Music Machine is also expanding to Tyler this year with a Music Machine at Central Baptist Church, Tyler the week prior to Music Machine at KC.
