R&K Distributors, Inc., of Longview is going to make every hit count this season for the East Texas Pump Jacks through a new program called “Hits for Heroes.”

The company has agreed to donate money every time a Pump Jack player gets a hit at a home game in Kilgore.

The money donated (up to $10,000) will go toward scholarships for select Kilgore College Veteran students and KC students of Veteran parents.

R&K will donate $25 for a single, $50 for a double, $75 for a triple and $100 for every home run.

The first-place Pump Jacks return home to historic Driller Park on Thursday and Friday for a pair of games against the Victoria Generals.

Gates open at 6 p.m. and both games are scheduled to begin at 7:05 p.m.
