Investigation was continuing Tuesday into a motorcycle-pickup collision which killed a man in the Ore City city limits Saturday night, said Police Chief Jerry Awtry.

Tony Pyle, 54, who had only recently moved to Ore City from Arkansas, was pronounced dead at the scene of the head-on crash on Wisteria Street in front of the city cemetery, Awtry said.

The pickup driver, 32-year-old Ashley Alsobrook of the Ore City area, was not injured “that I know of,” Awtry said.

Her Dodge pickup was southbound, while Pyle, en route to Lake O’ The Pines, was northbound on a 1997 Harley-Davidson SS, said Awtry. The chief said he understood Pyle was killed instantly.

Police were notified of the crash about 7 p.m., said Awtry. As of Tuesday, no charges had been filed in the accident, he said.
