The Third Annual Texas Tech 4-H Round-up Round-up Veterinary Science Skill-A-Thon was held last month at Texas Tech University. FFA and 4- H Students from around the state attended this major annual event with the hopes of going home with a ribbon.

For Upshur County student, Michelle Brunson, her dreams became a reality when she walked away with not one, but four ribbons, plus First Place overall winner.

Michelle won two First Place ribbons. The first was for hands-on skills, identification, and lab practical. In order to win the second ribbon in Communication, Miss Brunson had to deliver a speech about Radiology (X-rays).

The red Second Place ribbon was won by taking a written test on General Veterinary Technician Knowledge and in order to win the white Third Place ribbon, Michelle placed in a Quiz Bowl, which is like a game show.

In addition to the many ribbons, Michelle was also the First Place Overall Student Winner.
