The very first Veterans Day celebration at Tyler’s Texas State Veterans Home is expected to draw hundreds to honor Texas veterans and their service to our nation.

The event is set to begin at 10 a.m. Friday, at the Watkins-Logan Texas State Veterans Home at 11466 Honor Lane.

Dozens of ROTC cadets from John Tyler High School will post the colors and General Red Brown, Deputy Commander of the Texas Army National Guard will be the keynote speaker. The event will end with a Blue Star Presentation, in which the family of a recently deployed solider will be presented with the Blue Star Flag.

All are invited.
