A program to honor our Veterans was held Friday at Gilmer Bruce Junior High.

The junior high band played several songs, including America the Beautiful and Marches of the Armed Forces.  The girls’ choir sang Hear My Prayer by Moses Hogan.

A slideshow was presented to recognize the military families of the students, and attending veterans were recognized individually.

Junior High teacher Penny Wise read her original poem, written after 911 to honor the families of soldiers, and speaker Col. John Dalton gave a brief history of his B52 bomber days in Vietnam.
