Fabric artist, Charlotte Wheat will present a tatting workshop at the Museum of the Red River in Idabel, Okla., Mary H. Herron Community Conference Center on Saturday, December 1, 2012, beginning at 10:00 a.m. and ending at 4:00 p.m.  This age-old American art in lace-making is a dying craft, but Ms. Wheat does a wonderful job in bringing it back to life here at the museum. We invite returning students and new students to recreate what was once called poor man’s lace in pioneer days.

Charlotte has been a fiber artist for almost fifty years.  She began working with the Inkle Loom in the 1980’s and is a member of the Houston Hand Weaver’s Guild.  She is currently studying for her Bachelors of Fine Arts Degree at Texas A&M University on the Commerce, Texas Campus.

The workshop includes all the necessary supplies for the project for $40. We will be having a pot-luck lunch so please bring a dish.  Call 580-286-3616 for further information or check out our Facebook page.
