According to a news release from the Sheriff’s office, “On Wednesday, Feb. 6, around 5:41 p.m., the Upshur County Sheriff’s Office responded to a disturbance on Ginger Rd. which is located in the northern part of Upshur County.
“Responding Deputies learned that two people had been stabbed and the suspect had poured gasoline on a travel trailer and threatened to set it on fire.
“Upon deputies’ arrival, two victims were located, who were both transported to an area hospital to be treated for their injuries.
“Deputies located the suspect, who fled on foot. The suspect was located and arrested on two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.”
The news release reported that they learned later that a woman who lived with the suspect was missing and had not been heard from or seen since Tuesday.
Deputies took a missing person report from a relative and returned to the missing woman’s residence in an attempt to locate her.
“Upon their arrival, Deputy’s found evidence that lead those to believe the woman may possibly be injured inside the residence,” the news relase said.
Deputies located the woman, who was deceased, inside the residence.
The suspect charged in the two Aggravated Assault cases has also been charged with murder.
All cases are currently under investigation by the Upshur County Sheriff Office Criminal Investigation Division.
