Rose City Chili Pod in partnership with the Rotary Club of Tyler is hosting their 32nd Ever CASI sanctioned Chili Cook-off on March 2rd at Gander Mountain, located 5 miles South of Loop 323 near Loop 49 Toll Road, to benefit local Rotary projects and ET SPCA.
This will be a 2 Day Chili Cook-off with Sunday March 3rd being a Second Chance for CASI Points only, no public. Judges needed both days.
March 2nd event will include:
CASI Chili $20 entry fee; Turn-In at 2:00 PM. Will be judged on Aroma, Red Color, Consistency, Taste and Aftertaste according to CASI rules.
Junior’s Chili (age 7-17) $10 entry fee Turn-In at 1:00 PM; must follow CASI rules; Trophies given to top three.
50/30/20 Beans $10 entry fee Turn-In at Noon
Showmanship for CASI cooks will be judged on Theme, Costumes, Booth Decorations, Action and Audience Participation.
People’s Choice chili has no rules and may be prepared using any recipe (must purchase Tasting Cups to Vote $5 per Cup-available at 11:00 AM)
Chili cooks are encouraged to have extra chili for the People’s Choice.
We are expecting large crowds and the proceeds go straight to our charity.
Overnight parking for RV’s and Camping without hook-ups available Fri and Sat.
Event T-shirts and Goody Bags guaranteed to the first 50 CASI chili entries.
Pre-registrations may be mailed to Rose City Chili Pod, 10358 CR 3101, Winona, Texas 75792 postmarked no later than Feb. 25
Registration will open at 8:45 AM on Saturday, Cook’s Meeting to follow at 10:00 AM.

2012 Terlingua International Chili Champion T.J. Cannon will be in attendance, sponsored by Country Inn & Suites of Tyler.
