KC will host 50th annual East Texas Regional Science Fair March 1

 

Kilgore College will host the 50th annual East Texas Regional Science Fair Friday, March 1, in the Devall Student Center Ballroom on the Kilgore campus.

 

Local fair winners from area schools (grades 5-12) have been invited to attend the competition.  

 

The top individual project from the “Senior Division” (grades 9-12) and their sponsor will be awarded a trip to the 2013 Intel International Science and Engineering Fair in San Jose, Calif., May 13-18.

 

In addition, the top finisher in each of four categories will qualify to attend the Exxon-Mobil Science and Engineering Fair at The University of Texas at San Antonio, March 26-29.

 

Specialty awards will be given for projects in water, engineering, use of computers and environmental science. 

 

The United States Army, Navy and Air Force will also award prizes.  Projects will be available for public viewing from 12:15 to 2 p.m.
