Golf irons among Bee auction items

THIS FINE SET OF PING G20 Irons, donated by Kenneth and Raye White, will be an auction item at the Bee for Literacy Spelling Bee Thursday night at the Gilmer Civic Center.

Excitement is building as the 2013 Bee for Literacy Spelling Bee approaches. It will be Thursday night at the Gilmer Civic Center, beginning with a catered barbecue dinner. Doors open at 5:30 p.m.

It is sponsored by the Gilmer Rotary Club, and is the primary fund-raiser for the Upshur County Literacy Program.

Kenneth and Raye White, owners of International Golf in Longview, donated this Ping G20 Iron Set, 4 Iron-pitching wedge with stiff steel shafts for the auction held in conjunction with the Bee.

The suggested manufacturer’s retail price is $776.

Hunter Mahan and Michael Thompson are among those playing this type of club on the current PGA Tour.
