2. Texas Is America's Top Energy Producing & Manufacturing State

Texas is the largest energy producing state in America. Texas generates more than half of the United States' total domestic production of oil and natural gas and has the 7th largest coal reserves in the nation. Our 26 petroleum refineries account for more than one-fourth of all U.S. refining capacity. Texas is the largest chemical producer in the country, with more than 200 chemical plants. Texas also leads the nation in manufactured exports, which comprise 93 percent of all Texas exports.
