WHAT: Blue Ribbon Lobby Day is the first Texas lobby day organized by and for Democratic women. In fact, it's the first of its kind in at least a generation. The lobby day on April 9th and associated in-district visits provide an opportunity for legislative advocacy, issue education for future local engagement activity and statewide Democratic organizing. The participants will meet with state legislators at the Texas State Capitol.

WHO: Democratic and progressive women from across the state – from Lubbock to McAllen, and El Paso to Houston. Confirmed women attendees represent every Democratic House District and many of the Republican districts throughout Texas. Over 500 women are registered to attend.

WHEN: Tuesday, April 9th from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

WHERE: Texas State Capitol, 112 E. 11th Street, Austin, TX 78701

WHY: Blue Ribbon Lobby Day is all about bringing Democratic and progressive women together during the legislative session to have their voices heard. The purpose is to bring about change through a coalition of women fighting for fairness and equality. Specifically, Blue Ribbon Lobby Day participants will be advocating for women's healthcare, funding for public education, Medicaid expansion, and the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay in Texas bill. Together, the Blue Ribbon Lobby Day women are united, watching and keeping score.
