The Union Grove ISD Board of Trustees attended the Summer Leadership Institute presented by the Texas Association of School Boards, in Fort Worth on June 13 through 15, Supt. Brian Gray said.

The Union Grove trustees posted 100 percent attendance at this meeting.

“The board was able to meet and discuss current issues with other school district representatives from across the state,” Gray said.

Topics included post-legislative updates, safety and security, school funding, bullying prevention and a myriad of other relevant topics, he said.

“It is the goal of the UGISD school board to bring home many of the things they learned and incorporate those that will benefit the students of UG, Gray said.

“I am proud of the dedication that our members have,” Gray said. “They gave up personal time away from family and other responsibilities to become better representatives of our community and school district. They are a dedicated group.”

The UG School Board includs Jody Day, Rusty Dyar, Bennie Norris, Tim Turner, Kelly Chambliss, Jeff Webb and Gregg Grubbs.
