ETBU Criminal Justice Teams Both Finish Second at SWACJ Annual Meeting

 

MARSHALL, Texas (10/08/13) - A group of Criminal Justice students at East Texas Baptist University attended the 2013 Southwestern Association of Criminal Justice (SWACJ) Annual Meeting held in San Antonio, September 26-28. The ETBU Quiz Bowl and Crime Scene Interpretation teams both won second place in their respective competitions.

            The quiz bowl team consisted of: sophomore Jordan Anderson of Beckville, sophomore Halie Melot of Blossom, freshman Stormie Rains of Jacksonville, senior Florentino Perez of Marshall, and senior Cayden Cunniff of Joshua. The CSI team consisted of: Cunniff, senior Jonathan Burkhart of Oceanside, Calif., junior Christopher Hendrix of Marshall, and sophomore Dyllon Morin of Longview.

            ETBU Assistant Professor of Criminal Justice Dr. George Day was elected 2nd Vice President of SWACJ and will then serve as the SWACJ President during the 2015-2016 academic year.  This is the first time faculty from a faith based institution has served as the president of the association.
