This is a big week at Union Grove ISD.

The UG Lions have made the playoffs for the first time in 45 years.

Here are activities set for this week.

• Today, Wednesday, Nov. 13— Bonfire behind the administration building at 5:45 p.m. Harlen the Sports Guy and Pigskin Bob of KYKX will host. (The bonfire will conclude no later than 6:45 p.m., due to church night.)

• Thursday, Nov. 14—Early morning pep rally in the HS breezeway at 7:30 a.m.; pep rally in the high school gym at 2:45 p.m.; football boys bus send-off at about 4:20 p.m. in the teacher parking area near the field house. (“Come out and wish our team well as they depart,” said Supt. Brian Gray.)

UG Lions Football Playoff Information:

The UG Lions will face the Waskom Wildcats on Thursday, Nov. 14, at Hallsville High School. Kickoff is at 7 p.m. UG is the visiting team, and will be wearing their white uniforms. Cost at the gate is $5 for adults, $3 for children.

“We are asking all UG Fans and alumni to come out and pack the stands,” said Gray. “This will be ‘Blue-Out’ and we are asking all attending to wear UG Blue.”

They still have a limited amount of playoff shirts available for purchase at the administration building. Cost is $15 per shirt.
