TEXAS – The Texas Beekeepers Association crowned the 2014 Texas Honey Queen

during their annual convention recently held in Plano.

As the 2014 Texas Honey Queen, Hayden Wolf will travel throughout the state speaking

at schools, fairs, and to the media about the importance of honey bees. Wolf will also

keep the public up to date on her journey by posting on the Texas Honey Queen

Facebook page, and on Twitter @TxHoneyQandP.

“Honey bee pollination is responsible for almost one-third of our food,” said Wolf.

“Without honey bees it would be like skipping lunch every day.”

Wolf began beekeeping in 2009 when she received a Youth Beekeeping Scholarship from

the East Texas Beekeepers Association. She continues to keep bees with her family.

Wolf, who is currently a homeschooled senior in high school, loves playing the piano,

singing in her family’s quartet, working in their large organic garden, visiting elderly

shut-ins, and serving in her church. She plans on taking a few college courses from home

next fall, and hopes to eventually go to culinary school.

Wolf is available to appear at schools, educational events and for interviews. To schedule

her contact: Rachael Seida at rachaelseida@hotmail.com.
