The seventh annual Northeast Texas Community College McGraw-Hill poster contest will be held on Friday, May 2 at 9:30 a.m. in the foyer of the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts. The contest is open to all local college freshmen, sophomores and high school seniors.

Again, McGraw-Hill, the New York City-based education and financial company will sponsor the contest along with NTCC Honors.  The Award for first place will be $400 cash and a $175 McGraw-Hill book coupon presented by McGraw-Hill Representative, Lisa Bailey.  Second place will earn $300, third place $200 and fourth place $100.

“The dynamic between our community and aspiring students in this contest has enabled many of our young scholars to go on to win regional and national awards,” Dr. Andrew Yox, NTCC Honors Director, said. “The contest has become an important gateway to scholarships and recognition, and for this we thank Lisa Bailey of McGraw-Hill, and the many supporters of NTCC Honors who have made this contest possible year after year.”

Students outside of NTCC Honors who would like to register for the contest should email a 100-word abstract about their project to Honors Director, Dr. Andrew Yox by Wednesday, April 30 at 1 p.m. Likewise, any adult from the community who would like to help judge the contest should email Dr. Yox at ayox@ntcc.edu by that same time.
