Public Notice for Parent Meeting Announcement

Services through the federal Title programs may be available for eligible students attending private schools. Private schools and parents interested in learning more about the federal Title programs are invited to attend one of two informational meetings. The first meeting will be Wednesday, May 21, at 8:15 A.M. in the Board Room of the Gilmer ISD administration building at 500 S. Trinity. A second meeting will be held in the same place on Wednesday, May 21, at 4:15 P.M. Schools that receive services must comply with all requisite federal policies and procedures. An ordinance of the city council of the City of Gilmer, Texas amending the city zoning ordinance pursuant to regulations in the texas alcoholic beverage code (tabc), establishing regulations for the purpose of the selling of beer and wine and alcoholic beverages within the city, and the obtaining of permits and licenses for said sale, and prohibiting areas for said sale and permitting areas for said sale; regulating the sale of alcoholic beverages near public schools, private schools, churches, day-care centers and child-care facilities; regulating the sale of beer and wine in residential areas; regulating the possession and consumption of alcholic beverages near public or private schoools, establishing permits and application fees for the processing of granting permits and licenses to applicants and/or fees to applicants for said license; providing a severability clause; and providing an effective date

The annual Title 1 meeting of parents and community members is scheduled for May 22, 2014, Thursday, 6:00 p.m., in the Ore City ISD Board Room. Information regarding the schools’ participation in the NCLB programs and participation will be reviewed as well as planning for school year 2014-2015 along with the schools’ parent involvement program.
