ETBU Names Dane Fowlkes As Associate Vice President for Development
MARSHALL, Texas (6/05/14) – East Texas Baptist University Vice President for University Advancement Catherine Crawford announces the promotion of Dr. Dane Fowlkes to Associate Vice President for Development. Fowlkes previously served at ETBU as Director of Major Gifts in University Advancement and began his new position on June 1, 2014.
“Dane has proven his tremendous leadership abilities and truly represents us well in all the endeavors of the University Advancement Division,” said Crawford. “He will oversee all regional development officers as he continues to seek funding for the University. His service is vital as we demonstrate to friends and alums how important ETBU is to the world of Christian higher education.”
Dr. Fowlkes is an ETBU alum graduating in 1982 with the Bachelor of Arts degree, specializing in Ministry Careers. He first was employed by the University in 2000 as Director of Alumni Relations, and subsequently served ETBU as Chaplain of the University and Associate Professor of Religion before moving into his position in University Advancement. Prior to coming to work for the University, Fowlkes served for eight years with the Southern Baptist Convention's International Mission Board in East Africa and India. He earned the doctor of philosophy degree in 2005 from the University of the Free State in Bloemfontein, South Africa.
“ETBU is a very special place for me, going back to the time I entered as a freshman in the fall of 1978. Much of what I have achieved through the years is due to the wonderful education I received at East Texas Baptist University. It is a joy for me now to work in University Advancement and to do whatever I can to benefit my school and to help ensure her future success. I greatly appreciate this opportunity,” said Fowlkes.
Fowlkes and his wife, Jo Beth, are members of Crossings Community Church.
