Are you new to small engines and just don’t know where to start? If so, the Northeast Texas Community College Continuing Education Department has an upcoming course for you. Small Engine Repair for the Beginner will be offered on Thursday nights from September 25 through November 13. The class meets from 6:00-8:30 p.m. at the Pittsburg High School Career and Technology Building.
Four-cycle theory is the heart of what makes a small engine tick. During the course, instructor John Holland will guide students through an explanation of engine systems from A to Z – including governors, carburetion, compression, ignition, lubrication, and troubleshooting steps. Winterizing equipment, proper fuel and oil requirements for engine maintenance will be covered. Students are encouraged to bring an engine to class for a “hands-on” learning/repairs when appropriate.
