Performing groups include the Mount Vernon High School Jazz Band, the Mount Pleasant High School Woodwind Trio and the Mount Pleasant High School Saxophone Quartet. The groups will bring a mix of classical, traditional show tunes, light hearted and patriotic music to the stage.
Individual artists in the concert range in age from six to 19 years. Andre Daniel, age six, is the youngest of the performers. A student of violin since age three, Andre will perform Handel's Sonata in G Major.
Benjamin Munnson, age 16, will perform Layenda written by Isac Albeniz /Papas on guitar and Amber Glow by Vandal on piano. He is a home-educated student, who began studying classical guitar at age 12 and is in his second year of studying piano.
Anthony Munson, age 14, will perform The Brook by Franz Schubert on trumpet and Betoven's Sonatina on piano. He began learning trumpet at age 11 and now plays with the Texarkana Youth Symphony Orchestra.
Samuel Munson, age 11, Samuel Munson will play Mosquito Dance by Ludwig Mendelssohn. He has studied the violin for two years and currently plays with the Texarkana Youth Symphony Orchestra.
Laura, Susanna and Julia Seabourne will perform individually on the harp. Laura has studied and played harp for eight years; Susanna and Julia have studied harp for six years. Julia also provides piano accompaniment for many of Laura's and older sister Alaina's performances. Included in the performance will be First Arabesque by Claude Debussy, Believe Me If all Those Endearing Young Charms transcribed by Carlos Salzedo and Dewey Owens' Minuet in G Minor.
