First National Bank of Gilmer announces the retirement of Rickie Gipson after 38 years in banking. Melvin Cross was President of First National Bank of Gilmer when Rickie began his career in banking on January 1, 1979, when First National Bank was located on the square in downtown Gilmer.

Rickie has enjoyed many positions with FNB, Loan Payment Teller, Supply Coordinator, Compliance Officer, Cattle & Equipment Inspector, ATM Coordinator and Security Officer. Rickie is retiring with the title of Assistant Cashier/Teller and in his career has worked for four bank presidents. Rickie and his wife Nelda have two children and seven grandchildren. Rickie is looking forward to hunting, fishing, coin collecting and genealogy in his free time.

An afternoon retirement reception is planned for Friday, June 30, 2017, 3:00 - 5:00p.m. in the lobby of First National Bank of Gilmer. Rickie would like to invite his many friends and loyal customers in the community to come by and say hello.
