The Upshur County Commissioners Court will hold a public hearing on the proposed budget for Upshur County at 9:00 a.m. on August 15, 2017 in a meeting to be held in the County Courtroom, Third Floor, Upshur County Courthouse, 100 Tyler Street, Gilmer, Texas. The proposed budget will raise more total property taxes than last year’s budget by $96,230 or .9336%, and of that amount $96,230 is tax revenue to be raised from new property added to the tax roll this year.
There will be a public hearing before the Gilmer City Council on Tuesday, August 8, 2017, 5:15 p.m. in the Council Chambers at City Hall, 110 Buffalo Street, Gilmer, TX to consider a zoning change request from Sam Glass from R-1 (Single-Family Detached Residential), R-2 (Single-Family Detached Residential to MF-1 (Multiple Family Residential), and MF-2 (Multiple Family Residential) 907 North Bradford, Lot 8 (Part of Block D only), Blk D Mitchell Addition S253 (A200) 1.0634 acres and building.
The Commission will also consider action to change zoning in an area of the City from B-1/B-2 Business to Multi-Use. Corrections to the City of Gilmer’s zoning map will also be considered.
